Transitioning
a bit tonight. Seems lonelier, and I find myself wanting to be busy.
Last time here it took me about 6 days to get over the "what
the hell am I doing here" feelings. This time I prepared to
let them come. It's necessary for me to let myself feel lonely in
order to get quiet enough to begin to really feel.

Where is Alan today? Same spot for next few weeks.

Tyson Wells wash of La Posa Long Term Visitors Area.
Tried to get this
up last night but I ran out of time. Too many projects and it was Barsik's
first night out. I was a little freaked but he did fine. Not coyote supper
yet. Much to do today, so I'm just going to put up the pictures from the
last two days. A little overcast here today, supposed to be 72 degrees.
Right now about 52.
Lets start with my
neighbors! Every political persuasion, from the Rainbow family about 1
mile away, to the paramilitary outfit about 400 yards from me. I think
they're interesting because they are all long term and have created compounds
of tents, trucks, buses and in one case camouflage.
But first the sunset
from two nights ago.

Neighbors below. Distance makes good neighbors. Bicyling back from town
yesterday on the clown bike, lamenting not having a rack on the bicycle,
I noticed that the full hookup intown RV lots have the trailers about
about 3 feet beween trailers. Out here (1.5 mi from town) I can't see
my nearest neighbor, and it's 88 cents a day including water, garbage,
and dump facilities.

Middle
class - lots of structures, but nothing to give away their political
orientation. Everyone here has lots of solar panels of all kinds
mounted and leaning and laying, flat and angled and all making
FREE energy. Which is what is powering my laptop, satellite, microwave
TV. (yes, I'm getting five local stations - hah)
Two days ago
just before moving I drove past one camp with about 9 panels. All
were leaners and interestingly they were all pointing the wrong
way - do west??? What's up with that! |

|
The rainbow family. This is one of the homebases for the panhandlers
that are working the corners and businesses in Quartzsite. |
 |
Multiple
tents, including a 12X12 canopy like I have in the truck (have to
drive to Parker to get the steel fence poles). I was driving taking
these so excuse the bluriness. |
 |
military.
Camo on the first canopy tent, and the big flay, big trucks.
I'm trying to
think how the VW van got in there. I finally figured it out. They
captured it for food and amusement. I warned barsik about this place. |
| This one if for
Cindy. Look at this - it's an almost Casida. I've seen two of them,
and unless Casida has started naming a line "Scamp", I'll
assume they are wannabees. |

This
wash is about 300 yards to the west of me. It is not a road, it is
all flood water path. This is the main channel of the Tyson wash.
Four wheelers have been driving all over it. Look at that sky! |
 |
This is Barsik
on his first daytime excursion
 |
 |
Cat door project
finished - inside on left, and from the outside with an attractive
5 gallon door step. The the right is supper in the solar cooker.

Scenes from my
morning walk yesterday

|
Result
of walk and long bicycle rid. Nap interupted to take call. Wrong number.
 |
Projects
galore. I'm getting stuff done that have waited years on the list.
The rack for the bicycle has been in the trailer for 3 years. I found
all the parts I needed in my junk jars - of course every project makes
it's mess.
|

I'll be giving this rack a test on my ride to the grocery store today.
|
| Tomorrow's
projects and that doesn't include unpacking boxes inside the trailer
and setting up the Linux server in the desk. So these are now today's
projects and I'm going to start with a nice long walk in the desert. |
 |
Have a great day!
