picture this, me

Transitioning a bit tonight. Seems lonelier, and I find myself wanting to be busy. Last time here it took me about 6 days to get over the "what the hell am I doing here" feelings. This time I prepared to let them come. It's necessary for me to let myself feel lonely in order to get quiet enough to begin to really feel.

Where's alan - home in the trailer - where are you?
January 8, 2006 6:45 PM

Mommy, where does water come from? - Here in the desert it's 800 feet down below that spigot in the concret column. Every 3 days I fill up 55 gallons and then drive back to the trailer and siphon it in as necessary. The water is part of the 88cents/day to live in the LTVA, which is a good deal. Water in town is from 7cents/gal to 35cents/gallon. Don't need calcium supplements with this water. Leaves a lime scum on my teflon pots.
Hang glider over camp - a common occurrence as there is a hang glider school out at the air port - so ultralights and powered hang gliders are a common sight when the wind dies down.

my breakfast this sunday morning - fried onions and potatoes with one fried egg and applesauce, instant coffee - which of course means going - right >>>

to Tom's bus to get some real coffee later where I ran into Scott (Dustyfoot) and Judy from littledealer.com that sublets the rest of Scott's lot for her RV sales. I'm wondering a little about Scott's T-shirt, actually I'm jealous and want one similar - "sort of retired, or unemployed".
This is the old mine on the first hill/small mountain behind the LTVA that I hiked to yesterday. Mistake as far as my aching back is concerned today.
Here I'm half way up to that mine, and have achieved my favorite cactus.

Where's alan? OUTSIDE IN THE SUN. Hot, how hot, damn hot.

Because most of my pictures are sun pictures here is a contrast. Butch took many pics while here with Gail last week. Here are a few of those.
This is a bar on I-95 in Quartzsite where we ate lunch. My back was killing me that day but the food was good.

Found out from Tom who has done it, that there are drinks with goldfish in them and you have to drink the live gold fish too. The Aquarium is just behind my brother who's taking the pics.

Tom, in front, Gail and me with my back to you in the City bus cafe.

Tom is planning to come north for the summer to Boise or Eugene. This bus is a Portland city bus and Tom did the conversion in Eugene.

If anyone wants to write Tom - good idea - insist he comes to Eugene so I can still eat there.

Butch and Gail in almost finished la Casablanca. It has survived a pretty vicious windstorm just fine.

This is NOT a petrogylph or Indian rock art. We found it driving through the LTVA where I live - someone had a lot of time - the white stones are quartz of course. I'm thinking of playing with perspective in Photoshop and making it a logo for the freechicken - what do you think?

Despite the ban on McNeill's breeding as was passed by Congress in 1949 after seeing me, My nephew Steve has braved Congressional censure and passed the McNeill genes farther into the future with Little Mac here. I see a blog in his future.

More to be added tonight but I just have to get out into the sun. Bye chickies.
