Blue starfish in the champagne clear waters of the reef around Kosrae, Micronesia

Shoei, sporting the island smile - she was my guide to Lelu and my driver who took me as far as road went -to the trailhead up the mountain.

Photographs of my Folbot Greenland II in and about Kosrae, Micronesia.
Inside the reef that surrounds the island of Korsae (Ko - shy'). NE side of the island close to my hut.
You can see the rudder on my Folbot here, which makes it easy to handle the long length (17'). What's great is that the whole boat fits into two soft side suitcases that can be checked on the airline - which is exactly how I got it to Micronesia. I can change it from one person to two in about 20 minutes.
The boat house near the traditional grass hut that I stayed in for a few weeks. This is where I stayed! Korsae is not yet an overwhelming tourist attraction so I spend all my time with locals, hiking and paddling, and exploring ruins. Oh and eating fish and bananas.
Nose to the sky, through the reef into the real pacific. Hard to keep the forward momentum needed for the rudder to control the boat and get the camera out of the waterproof bag to take a picture. Huge gentle swells this day - felt like elevators. On the way back in I was able to surf large ones like this back inside the reef to the harbor.
