Logan's
run. A TV show where everyone lives within a closed society,
and everyone lives only to thirty. However the idea of living
"outside" is unbearable and terrible to even consider.
People fear going outside their domed world and have urban
myths regarding the few who had left and the terrible things
that happen to them. Who benefits by you staying right where
you are today? I'll explore this at length,
insurance companies
banks
government - which literally in our constitution, derives
it power from the people - but to be more specific - it derives
it's power from the production of the people. And that power
is large only when the production goods, labor, and materials
can be transformed into power. The bottom of the pyramid is
me. The day I don't want to pay my real estate taxes on my
stick built home, the day that I don't want to pay $1100 for
a crown on a tooth, the day I don't want to go to work anymore,
the day I choose not to live in the same place everyday, that
is the day that all this society is weakened by one, and endangered.
In the movie Logan's Run, the choice of one single individual
from the "collective" society was recognized as
extremely dangerous. Why? because others would go too. Like
water out a leaky pipe, the leaks don't get smaller, they
get bigger. Massed power and money lives off of me, not themselves.
They need me to be quiet, calm and go to work. By the way.
They need you to go to work too. Everyday.
